' do you mean that I have to load that iso on my usb pen by using programs like NetBookBootMaker?? I found an iso called iAktos S3 10.6.3 v2 that is supposed to work very well on our nc10. Do you know how to install and if it's a good step to take for a very noob?

Tnx a lot for the work and the support you give. Andrea I got it!! Installed the HD (a 500GB 7200rpm, I already had it in an external case), upgraded RAM and went through all the procedure. Worked like charm even if installation lasted quite a while from usb pen (it seemed to stop various times doing nothing. After first reboot before upgrade I had a little problem, usb ports not working so I couldn't put the other files in.
A reboot and starting with the usb pen inserted at gray screen fixed the issue. Upgraded and fixed all the little problems as described and now I have a perfectly working NC10 running 10.5.8 with Lan, audio (I had to install the full audio pkg for that), video, blutooth (I perfectly connected my MS5000 mouse and works like charm). Next step is installing the wifi card as soon as it arrives and I'll be all set. Tnx a lot for the great guide it helped very much!
